Immovable pain

i thought you were gone
to haunt me no more

but you slipped into
my heart this morning,
this pain

i thought you had left

but instead,
you sat in my heart
all day, all night

this immovable pain

i really thought
i was done with you

but there you were,
pulling me down
winching tears into my heart
from above

try as i might, i couldn’t
embrace you or
push you away

you just moored there,
all day, all night

an immovable force

i know you’ll be gone soon,
fading away into the night
just like you snuck into
my heart

but will you ever begone,
forever uprooted?
